The Story

In Mercy Ridge, some stories are never told aloud.

Some say the town is cursed. Others speak of murders beneath a red moon, vanished names, and the dead who never quite left.

Mercy Ridge

He came looking for truth. They made her a legend.

At the heart of every rumor stand two figures: Jack Cole and Nora Cain. He is searching for the truth. She was turned into a legend. Perhaps both have lied less than the town itself.

The songs do not lay out a finished mythology. They leave tracks in the dust: clues, warnings, half-truths, and nights when even enemies must save one another.

Jack Cole

What remains of a lawman when the law was written by the wrong people?

Jack Cole was once a man of the law. A marshal who believed an oath meant something. Mercy Ridge changed him.

A trail of death, silence, and false stories led him back to a town that buried its guilt beneath the dust. He keeps hunting, though he knows by now that not every monster shows its teeth.

What is a lawman worth when the law was written by monsters?

Nora Cain

If she was not the monster, why did she learn to hunger like one?

Nora Cain is many things, depending on whom you ask. To some she is a murderer. To others, a witch, a curse, a vampire. A name whispered to children when the moon hangs too red in the sky.

But Nora was not always a legend. Perhaps she was once only a woman from Mercy Ridge. Perhaps they blamed her because the truth was too dangerous to face.

If I was not the monster, why did I learn to hunger like one?

Jack and Nora

They are not on the same side.

He came for answers. Perhaps to kill her, too. She sees no savior in him, only a man with a gun and a story someone else wrote for him.

But Mercy Ridge hides deeper shadows than either of them knows. Sometimes the person you trust least is the only one who survives the same night.
